American Airlines , just announce a new direct routes between New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) and Costa Rica.
Starting Dec. 18, 2019 the airline will operate daily service between JFK and Juan Santamaría International Airport (SJO) near San José.
Also, it will offer Saturday flights from JFK to Daniel Oduber Quirós International Airport (LIR) in Liberia.
All flights will be operated by a Boeing 737-800 with schedules for a full week-long vacation or a quick weekend escape.

On April 9, the airline KLM announced a second direct flight between Costa Rica and Amsterdam (Netherlands), starting in October, with a stopover in Alajuela and final destination in Liberia, Guanacaste.
On February 20, the Canadian airline Air Transat added two direct flights from the city of Toronto, one to the international air terminal of Daniel Oduber Quirós, in Liberia.
